Samsung Galaxy fold release date and price tag

Initially, Samsung is releasing its Galaxy Fold phone in Korea by 6th September. After that, Samsung has stated that later it will make the phone available in Singapore, France, and Germany in the second phase.

Now wonder why Samsung Galaxy Fold Price price tag is $1980 for now. It is listed among the world’s expensive phones of 2019. It is almost the same as its competitor phone Huawei mate X. After its release, it will become the first foldable phone of the world, revolutionizing the mobile phones market completely.

Let’s discuss the brand new features Samsung offers in its Galaxy Fold review.

Brand-new Design

Unfolded:           160.9 x 117.9 x 6.9mm

Folded:                160.9 x 62.9 x 15.5mm

Samsung Galaxy Fold is getting hype in the mobile phones market. The reason for it is mainly its innovative and foldable design. Samsung has really put its best to build their first foldable Smartphone. The development of this phone was under process for 10 years and around 1000 prototypes were made before the final release.

The company believes that its foldable design is safe as the screen folds in itself like a laptop. It feels like a book to open the phone screen which makes it easier to get a good grip on the phone with beautiful cases.

A huge part of the development effort was to design a mechanism to properly shut and open the phone. Samsung states that the Galaxy Fold phones have undergone a folding test of 200,000 folds. So it guarantees around 5 years of life of the phone folding system. This shows how critically the company sees its product before the launch.

The Smartphone will be available in Space silver and Cosmos Black colors for now while it may come in Martian Green and Astro Blue later on.

Galaxy Fold Display

Samsung galaxy fold

There are two screens in Samsung Galaxy Fold, with 4.6 inch HD display which is quite small as compared to smartphones used in today’s era. So it will be difficult to type on it as the screen small.

The most asked question about this smartphone is about its crease. And the answer to that is yes it does have a visible crease on the main 7.3-inch screen inside. But it is not so much prominent so you don’t need to worry about it when browsing, watching videos or playing games. It will only be visible when you see your phone screen from an angle.

One good thing about Galaxy Fold’s internal panel is indeed satisfying that its colors and content ratios are absolutely breath-taking. Everything looks great on it. Its square-ish panel is ideal for some games and Instagram especially. However, the secondary screen is not designed to use everything on it as It seems. It is very narrow and good to use for just chatting, calling, or taking selfies, etc.

Performance of Samsung Galaxy Fold

Samsung as always offering the best in terms of performance isn’t short this time also. Galaxy Fold performance is very competitive in today’s mobile market with 7nm octa-core processor and 12 GB RAM. Android 9 will run smoothly and the apps will have no problem in launching.

There is a huge storage of 512 GB in the Galaxy Fold, so you don’t need to worry about space in your phone. It is enough for games, apps, music, movies, and much more. There is one thing worth to be noted about Fold storage that it doesn’t offer any external storage to connect. So all you have is 512 GB and you cannot expand it unless you move your data to the cloud which is the only option.

Some of the smartphones versions of Fold will have 5G connectivity while everybody will be able to enjoy at least 4G connectivity on it.

Battery Performance

Here Samsung has broken another tradition by introducing two batteries – one in each half.

The combined capacity of the two power packs is 4380 mAh which is according to Samsung, enough to drive your phone the whole day. Although, it heavily depends on how much you use your phone.

Spending more time on 7.3-inch screen will drain the battery faster logically. But there is much more to explore so that anybody can give his final verdict.

It does also supports wireless charging as Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 plus.

Six Cameras

It may be a little surprise to know that there are six cameras in Samsung Galaxy Fold! Three of them can be found on the rear side with the one 12 MP sensor along with 12 MP and 16 lenses. For selfies, 10 MP camera is there. And when unfolded, the Galaxy Fold has a 10-MP main camera also an 8-MP depth camera for portraits.

Its camera can deliver beautiful captures with contrast colors with as much detail as you may want. It can properly zoom in every object and can detect every possible detail of the picture.

Galaxy Fold – Is it Worth it?

Samsung Galaxy Fold is a revolution in Mobile design. It will change the track of mobile development and other companies might also love to dive into this new ocean of creativity. The future of the foldable phones is bright enough as Huawei Mate X is about to release too and other smartphone companies will also start thinking foldable phones as a marketing weapon.

Although Samsung Galaxy Fold is expensive, every technology that is first introduced has a relatively huge price tag. But in the next few years, as competition increases, the price will reduce.
